Guest photographer - Wyn Barnes
Welcome to the photography of another local photographer and friend of mine, Wyn Barnes.
Mike McFarlane is a landscape photographer, who after living in many parts of the UK has returned to the North East of England. Fascinated by the beauty of the light and land, especially the coast, his work shares this beauty with others. Mike’s landscape photography covering Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, Teesside, Yorkshire, Scotland, UK and Europe is available in galleries nationwide and is used commercially.
I’m trying to decide on a style of photography for the White Lea Farm project, but what to do?

One of the great things about showing my work at exhbition and on the web is that I talk to a lot of other photographers, many of whom are beginners and want to improve their art. I’m often asked for landscape photography tips such as “how can I take better photographs?” or “is there a good course/tutor?” or that holy grail question “I want to be a professional photographer, how do I do it?”. I will try to answer the first two questions in this article, and the last about professional photography in a seperate article.

Having neglected my site for a while (gloomy weather in the UK equals lack of motivation!) I thought I would start with a bang and introduce the work of photographer David Whitton in my guest gallery.

I’m up on Shetland photographing at the moment, but I’ve not been very well, so whilst stuck in bed I had a bit of time to poke around on Apple’s new App store. I found some tasty little treats for photographers.
